Flavor language is most useful when it helps a team decide what to do next. A short, shared vocabulary can make sample review easier than long tasting descriptions that are hard to compare.
Use language that buyers can act on
Terms such as clean, rounded, nutty, fruit-led, bitter, sweet, light, or heavy can guide product direction when they are tied to a target customer and format.
Keep sample comparison consistent
The same terms should be used across sample rounds. That makes it easier to see whether a change in roast, blend, or format moved the product closer to the goal.
